Our client is a hightech international startup with a clear strategy and mission. The first commercial vertical farm has been opened recently in the Netherlands. The job is open to Dutch talent and to EU-talent that is willing to relocate to the Netherlands.

Your job as an Agronomist

  • Handling advanced fertigation system including; drip, sprinkle irrigation, control head, programming irrigation/climate controller.
  • Managing nursery production, vertical farming, artificial lighting (Led).
  • Conducting field trials and small-scale observations and experimental plots.
  • Collection and analysis of data.
  • Writing and reading professional reports.


You will be part of a team Agronomist (3 members).

  • B. Sc. / M.Sc. in agriculture. Graduate in one of the following subjects; vegetable production/ plant protection/plant physiology / water and soil sciences.
  • Motivated agronomist with Practical experience in growing vegetables or leafy vegetables or Practical experience in growing edible fresh herb and spices is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Competent for teamwork, diligence and accuracy at work. High motivation and willingness to work hard/ long hours when necessary.
  • Advantage in background practical /theoretical of; soilless substrate, nursery production, vertical farming, artificial lighting (Led).
  • Competent in the use of the following MS software; Word, Excel Power Point. User of Statistical analysis software such as JMP preferred but not mandatory.
  • Oral and written fluency in English. Dutch and/or another language is welcome but not mandatory.
  • EU-citizenship obligatory.
Our client is an international high-tech startup in the agricultural sector. They establish their first production hall and head office in Poeldijk. The company grows herbs under ideal conditions. This is called vertical farming. Sustainability is highly valued. Because of the growth method, there is a constant quality. No pesticides are used and the logistics are local to local. The team currently consists of 15 members (without productionstaff). This number is growing strongly in the coming period. They are located in the Westland area, near The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam.
